Mr. Robert loves helping students feel like a STAR from the first lesson, and he’s great with students of all ages, down to the very youngest! With seven years’ experience as a Child Care Center Music Educator for children ages 0–5, Robert brings warmth, patience, and playfulness to his lessons, helping even the youngest beginners feel engaged and excited about music.

Robert created the STAR Method to connect with students of all ages and abilities. Robert uses STAR to:

S. Start with music students love, and get students to play their favorite artists instantly
T. Teach around a tune, and teach theory using tunes students love
A. Act like artists your age! Showcase artists and musical influencers in the age range/stage of life of the student for inspiration and a more passionate connection to learning
R. Repeat and remix! Reinforce theory through repetition and multiple genres/forms of inspiration to make the concepts fun to retain

More About Robert Adams, Jr:

Berklee College of Music-educated singer, songwriter and guitarist, Robert AX Adams, Jr is named one of the best guitarists in the world by music legend Lee Ritenour. He is a 2018 Six-String Theory Global Music Competition top five finalist in the Rhythm/Accompaniment category, and is celebrating over 45 years as a professional musician, and 20 years as an instructor. Raised in the Washington, DC area, Robert has shared the stage with gospel sensations John P. Kee and Gideon Band, and with R&B artists Mavis Staples, Sister Sledge, Lalah Hathaway, Jody Watley and Pieces of a Dream. He is most proud of his close friendship and collaborations with the late Aaron Spears, former drummer and music director for artist Usher, and hit show “The Masked Singer.”

He wholeheartedly believes that music is the essence of life, and wants all to experience its transformational and healing power.

Robert’s mission is “LOVE AND HEAL ALL THROUGH MUSIC”!

Fun Fact: Robert is a Prince, Michael Jackson and Hendrix fanatic. As a teenager, Robert was a Michael Jackson impersonator and tribute artist for military bases in the Philippines – and was fired for actually sounding and dancing too much like Michael!

From the review section:

Great school! My kid has been going here for a year. He has Max and Mr. Robert as his teacher during the past year. He always excited to go to the music lesson where he learns about different genre of music. Mr. Robert has made an impact on our son’s personal music taste: he went from listening to K-pop music to soul, blues and jazz. The administration is also very responsive and flexible with scheduling. Make-up lessons can be easily made online.
